Steve started his career in the Motor Industry as a car salesman at a local Ford dealership in 1983, and in the same year moved on to join Desira Motor Co selling Fiats. He then progressed to sales manager at their Citroen Dealership in Ipswich and stayed their until 1991. |

It was in Ipswich with his business partner John Wood, they decided to set up their own car retail outlet Woodstocks and in December 1992 they decided to open another outlet in Bury St Edmunds, which Steve moved to and this is still open to this day, although now known as Steve Stocks cars. |
